After their astonishing debut full-length entitled Necromantical Invocation, Luvart returns with another masterpiece of heaviness. 2015’s Rites of The Ancient Cults continues building upon the strong foundation of its predecessor, that is; heavy, slow, and evil sounding black metal that feels more like Samael than it does the more common norwegian black metal scene. The lyrics in this album generally swirl around ancient sumerian dieties (like the phenomenal Wrathful Tyrant) or Cult of Chaos, kinda reminds me of Dissection’s Reinkaos in that aspect. The pacing of the album is superb, starting out with a ritualistic incantation followed by Thy Draconian Majesty, a great track but which, in my opinion serves as na opening dish to one of my favourite tracks of all times, “Summoning The Black Light”. The instrumental of the record is just as good, although relatively simple, which makes the performance of Brucolaques, once again, the stand out factor with his potent vocals and solid riffs. This record is a must buy for everyone who enjoys their metal to be more slow paced and immersing, thoroughly recommended.

Após seu surpreendente álbum de estreia intitulado Necromantical Invocation, Luvart retorna com outra obra-prima de peso. Rites of The Ancient Cults de 2015 continua construindo sobre a base sólida de seu antecessor, isto é; Black metal pesado, lento e malvado que parece mais com Samael do que com a cena black metal norueguesa mais comum. As letras deste álbum geralmente giram em torno de antigas divindades sumérias (como a fenomenal Wrathful Tyrant) ou Cult of Chaos, meio que me lembra Reinkaos do Dissection nesse aspecto. O ritmo do álbum é soberbo, começando com um encantamento ritualístico seguido por Thy Draconian Majesty, uma ótima faixa mas que, na minha opinião, serve como prato de entrada para uma das minhas faixas favoritas de todos os tempos, “Summoning The Black Light” . O instrumental do disco é igualmente bom, embora relativamente simples, o que faz com que a atuação de Brucolaques, mais uma vez, se destaque com seus vocais potentes e riffs sólidos. Este disco é uma compra obrigatória para todos que gostam que seu metal tenha um ritmo mais lento e envolvente, totalmente recomendado.
